About
Mental Garage Sale: I sell what’s in my head. In case you were wondering where the name came from.
I’m a wife, mom and follower of Christ. I own several companies, and I’m partnered in several ventures. I’m verbose and unfiltered and a certified geek-in-heels. I try for sarcasm, but sometimes it’s sardonic… and perhaps a little caustic. I’m working on that, but truth be told… not very hard.
More random fun facts:
- I drink a lot of good coffee.
- I secretly want to live in Seattle and pretend I work at Seattle Grace/Mercy West Hospital.
- I watch Sons of Anarchy, but only because Jax looks like my Dad when he was younger, and my Dad was also a biker. It’s a little like watching home movies.
- I am crazy in love with my husband of 22+ years and my stomach does flip flops when he walks into a room.
- I play The Godfather-Five Families online, and after 42 hours of straight playing over Christmas I was made Don, beating out over 12,000 other players. I was ousted from the top by a 15 year old kid a few hours later. This fact does not embarrass me at all.
- I watch as much PAC-10 volleyball as I can online, and I love the Stanford Cardinals.
- My husband Ken
is the Youth Director at Community Presbyterian Church, so I get dragged to lock-ins and camps a lot as the token girl chaperone. I am NOT a fan of bunk beds or communal bathrooms at these eventswas “fired by fedex” as the Youth Director for our church in 2012 a few days after his mom died because his position was eliminated from the budget. We went from this… to this… - I read the Twilight book series. In a weekend. All four. Seriously.
- I live on a tropical island, which is pretty awesome, except for Spring Break when it is not. I’m lobbying for a “locals-only” card guaranteeing a fast pass on the ferry.
- My favorite blog is Bruce Reyes Chow, the extremely distinguished moderator of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
- I start (almost) every day with NPR’s Morning Edition.
- I’m a recent Mac convert. I’ve been a PC Girl my whole life until 2010. I still cheat on my Mac with my Toshiba.
- I will avoid getting out in hot weather at almost all costs.
- I’m on Facebook a LOT.
- I have been trying to finish my degree for 20+ years and my goal is to graduate before my daughter does. In 2014.
